Join DYD as we participate in the annual city wide clean-up! We will clean up the South Platte river banks then grab a coffee from Table Coffee House.

Join us for our June 2025 meeting where we will have Rep. Lindsay Gilchrist (District 8) and Senator Matt Ball (District 31) as special guest speakers. They will give us an update on the recent legislative session and answer any questions you may have.

It's more important than ever that young people are involved in politics. Our voices matter and we can make a difference -- especially at the local level. That's why we'd like to see YOU join the Executive Board.

The Executive Board is responsible for leading the Denver Young Democrats. As a board member, you have the chance to network with other young Democrats, plan and host events to bring our community together, and get involved with electing democratic candidates for office. We're looking for new members to join our team as Secretary, Treasurer, Community Liaison, and College and High School Organizer. 

Any DYD member is eligible to be on the Board. DYD members must be registered Democrats under the age of 36 residing in the City and County of Denver and pay monthly or annual dues. DYD members are also eligible to VOTE in board elections!

Please join your local young democrats for a community lead conversation concerning alternatives to police responses to mental health crises on April 5th at 6:30 p.m. Since the Support Team Assisted Response (STAR) program was launched in June 2020, mental health professionals partnered with paramedics have responded to over 750 calls concerning community members experiencing mental health episodes. Using years of specialized mental health training, these teams deescalate incidents preventing the unnecessary arrest or jailing of individuals while freeing up law enforcement to focus on fighting crime. In light of the program's success, community members around the state are asking, how can we emulate STAR in our community?

Come join DYD this Sunday as we will be participating in the rally for gun reform at the Colorado State Capitol. Organized by local gun control advocacy groups, it’s time we tell our representatives that the time for change is NOW.

Please remember to follow covid-safe guidelines, wear a mask, and remain socially distant.

We need more than thoughts and prayers, we need legislation that will help curb the gun violence epidemic that is plaguing our country and state.
